Fitzroy Toussaint:

“ThisIs a character that appears a few times in the book,he always tries to visit his mother all fridays,he’s the son of Philomena, a woman that always told him not to bet, but at one point the queen mother convinced him to bet for her and they won! The queen mother knew that Fitzroy was very very good at gambling and and he had got all his money by gambling even though his mother always told him not to bet or drink.

Later on Fitzroy fell in love with Diana's pretty body,so he said”I'm going to buy some lilies, would you like a drive?” So they spent all afternoon together. Diana wants to be with him because he is rich and has a nice car.He thought she needed help and he could be the only one who could help her.  After that they started something although we never know what relationship they really had.

At the end we discovered that all was all a nightmare of the queen and this never happened.

Philomena Toussaint:

Philomena Toussaint is a tall and slightly old black woman. She was awakened by the arrival of the Queen Mother moving into the pensioner's bungalow next door to her own. Having the queen next to her room, she prayed to God to let her sleep because she knew that the Queen mother bet and gambled on horse races. Because of this Philomena leaves her room with her coat, hat, scarf and gloves on and lies saying that she is entering when in fact she is leaving. She wants to help the Queen mother and she said that, while she is in the house, there mustn't be any alcohol or gambling because she is upset and she doesn't like her son to gamble. Philomena took care of the queen mother when she was  sick because she said she was very old, 90 years old, and a doctor was not going to help her. She said that the queen mother needed to sleep because she was tired. Philomena and Beverly Threadgold knew how to prepare a dead body.

Philomena prepared the funeral and also organized her things since she was a woman who was self-sufficient. She did not like to be helped with badly earned money from her son,  for example with gambling.  For this reason, she had all the food tins and cans organised in the kitchen cupboard, so her son thought she had enough food, but they were all empty. She was very honest, hardworking and she cared about others. She represented an old woman´s pride and a very small pension.
