Hi there!
I’d like to talk about an incredible series: Peaky Blinders! Why is Peaky Blinders the most amazing TV show I have ever watched? If you want to know it… keep reading!
Peaky Blinders is a British drama series created by Steven Knight. It was released on 12 September 2013 on BBC Two. Nowadays, it is possible to watch it on Netflix. This series is set in Birmingham during the period between WWI and WWII. The plot is about a gypsy gangster family settled in the lawless streets of Birmingham. They are illegal bookmakers who make a living doing illegal horse racing gambling, dealing drugs, and extorting people.
The main character of Peaky Blinders is Thomas Shelby —the head of the family. Tommy is an ambitious and clever man. His only aim is to increase his social status and to achieve political power. Even though Tommy represents the typical antihero —he does bad actions all the time— it is possible to sympathize with him thanks to his romantic relationship with Grace, the waitress. The other members of the family —Ada, Arthur, John, and aunt Polly—help, and support Tommy in his illegal business. Other important characters of the series are the corrupt police officer Mr. Campbell, Mr. Churchill, or my favorite character: Alfie Solomon.
Another aspect I really like about Peaky Blinders is its soundtrack. In that case, this soundtrack is a really important part of the show. “Red Right Hand” by Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds is the song that sets the tone for all episodes of the show. But it is not the only song that appears in the series. Singers like The White Stripes, Johnny Cash, Artic Monkeys, Anna Calvi, or Radiohead have given voice to the most incredible moments of this show. The breathtaking song “What He Wrote” by Laura Marling is one of my favorites songs of the series.
In my opinion, Peaky Blinders has a fantastic cast who reflects the crime and corruption in Birmingham in a difficult time in history. I strongly recommend this series because it has a real plot, fascinating characters, and an outstanding soundtrack. If you like films like The Godfather or series like The Sopranos, I am sure you will love this British series!
Here you have the trailer of the first season. I hope you like it!
See you soon!

It sounds quite interesting, seems my type of favourite series has all what could ask of a series of crime and drama. I will aim it for my pending series. Abel :)

EliminarI highly recommend it, I'm sure you will love it! In fact, if you watch it in the original version, it is possible to notice the several accents which actors use in order to represent their characters: Brummie (accent from Birmingham), Irish, RP or Posh English... At the beginning, it is a bit difficult to understand, but then I'm sure that you will love each accent!
